Frequently asked questions
- How do I rotate a PDF online?
- Upload your PDF file. Choose a rotation angle (90°, 180°, or 270°) using the buttons. Click the rotate button. The tool applies the rotation to every page in your browser using pdf-lib, then you download the result. Everything runs in your browser; no data is sent to any server.
- Are my PDFs sent to a server?
- No. Rotation is done in your browser using pdf-lib. Your PDF never leaves your device.
- Can I rotate only some pages?
- This tool rotates all pages by the same angle. If you need to rotate only certain pages, use a PDF editor that supports per-page rotation.
- What rotation angles are available?
- You can rotate by 90° (clockwise), 180°, or 270° (equivalent to 90° counter-clockwise). These cover the typical needs for correcting orientation.
- Does it work with password-protected PDFs?
- Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first. Open the PDF with the correct password in another app, save without password, then use that copy here.
- Does it work on mobile?
- Yes. The tool runs in the mobile browser. Upload your PDF, choose the angle, rotate, and download. No app install required.
- Is quality lost when rotating?
- No. The tool sets the page rotation metadata in the PDF. Content and quality are preserved; no re-encoding or re-compression is applied.
- Why is my PDF rotated the wrong way?
- If the result is not what you expected, try the other angle (e.g. 270° instead of 90°). Rotation is applied clockwise: 90° turns the page once to the right.
- Is there a page limit?
- There is no fixed limit. Very long PDFs may take longer and use more memory. For typical documents (e.g. under 100 pages), rotation works well.
- Can I rotate and merge in one go?
- This tool only rotates. To rotate and then combine with other PDFs, rotate first, download, then use the Merge PDF tool with the rotated file and others.
